Leading from Abundance & Emerging from Fear

It’s been a long time since our nation had a common sense of inspiration and hope. Scarcity, budget cuts, and messages of fear fill our daily news and our daily lives. We want to see change but we can’t let go of the fear that’s holding us down. As nonprofits, you’re reaching toward changes that will usher in a new era of leadership, but you might find yourself getting dragged down by the overall feeling of hopelessness that is polluting our country.

You might wonder how to get past the fear-based thinking so you can make a difference in the world. Maybe you’re worried that your efforts won’t make a difference at all.

First, stop with the worrying! I think it’s time to change that line of thinking and rediscover the character-building blocks that build great leadership skills. We must be confident that our world is filled with those of us who want to make a positive difference and will be supportive of us.  Then we must seek that mentorship and support.

Those leadership skills still exist within us all. We just need to dig deep, wipe away the cobwebs of neglect and uncover the inner wisdom and self-awareness that will help us resume our positions as the inspiring leaders we were meant to be.

Secondly, I also think that it all begins with forgiveness. First, we need to forgive ourselves for ignoring our inner voices, and then we need to forgive others for doing the same. Pointing the blame at a single person, entity or organization isn’t going to do any good.

We’ve been travelling a dark path toward a world that values material wealth and fame.  Now that the world seems to be crumbling around us, it’s time to take a close look at who we are as a nation and who we want to be collectively.  Then, we must also take action to be perceived as the change we seek by taking a path towards self awareness.

There is always time to turn things around and an abundance of support if we seek it,  so that we can leave a legacy of  prosperity and peace,  not one of fear and war.  But it will take some effort from those who have dedicated their lives to making the world a better place, a paradigm shift perhaps.

The good news is that you’re not alone in this journey.  I’m here to help you find your way and make the right decisions that will change your life and, ultimately, the world around you.

I want to help – please contact me if you have any questions as you travel down the path of reflection.
